It might look pretty straightforward but the skill that is required to participate in the THMF sheaf toss competition is truly astounding.
Only the hardiest of people will manage to get the sheaf toss anywhere near the post. Many have tried and many have failed.
Michael O’Brien, who has represented Ireland at competitions in France and Australia, and set a World Record of 63 ft will be trying to smash his record. Michael is counting on the support of the crowd as he attempts to break the record at Trim Haymaking Festival this year.
As you can see it’s not all about world record breaking seriousness! Our sheaf toss is also a fun event for all levels as proven by the lady participants.
